Hi Bernie,Think of reincarnation as going on a field trip. We started in kindergarten, going on one field trip after another, learning things during each field trip. Then in first grade, we went on more field trips. All the way through high school, each time we went on a field trip, we learned more things. We have a feel for how much we learned during those field trips.
Now imagine how many field trips it would take for a mouse to learn how to be a human being! How many centuries would a mouse mind have to go on field trips to learn how to think like a human being? That's pretty staggering to think about. A mouse's mind is very different from a human beings. And yet, over thousands or millions of years, it might be possible for a mouse that lived eternally, not limited by a mouse body, to learn enough to change its entire consciousness so it could think like a human being.
I'm not suggesting we were mice at one time, or other animals. I'm just saying our minds were much more primitive, and in a few million years, the minds we have now will see primitive to us.
That's how much we can grow spiritually as one small part of our eternal lives. Then imagine that progression mouse mind to human mind occurred millions of times over. We can't even imagine what our minds will be at a greatly advanced stage of our development. Our minds now are like mouse minds compared to what we'll be like after millions of years of learning and developing.
And so, we will continue learning lessons. Reincarnation is only one way of learning lessons, and what we know of reincarnation is limited to what we can envision could be learned on the Earth plane. But we can incarnate onto millions of other planes of existence to learn about life as we could never envision it. We'll always be growing and be challenged.
All that is to say that we can't imagine what the changes will be in our lives, and the changes will never end. Reincarnation on the Earth plane is just one type of field trip. And the field trips will never end.
