Yes, that's very important for us on the Earth plane to realize. Those who have gone onto the next life before we do want us to be happy and grow in our lives. They aren't possessive, and want us to love others. The love you have with him will always be the same. Being with someone else doesn't diminish that.

He's continuing his life. Think of it like this. Prior to the twentieth century, when someone moved to another country, overseas, you wouldn't have contact with that person. Sometimes you might be able to send a letter, but for most people, there was little or no contact. During that separation, people left behind and the person who had moved continued to live their lives doing those things important to them. The separation didn't diminish their love, but they had no contact.
That is the way it is with people on the next plane of life. They are busy going on with their lives, and they know you must live yours as well. It's very difficult for them to contact us. Few can do it, and the reason a small number can but most can't isn't known. They need mediums on their side of life just as we need mediums here to be able to communicate. Otherwise, even if they want to, they can't easily. It isn't that he's choosing not to communicate. He can't. And so he's going about his life and knows you must go about yours.
But the communication that does come through is in feelings and senses. If you think about him and talk to him, he will receive that wherever he is. If he's able at the time, he may come close to you on the Earth plane. He can't speak or get words to you. Instead, you'll feel his love and closeness. You'll sense that he's in the room with you. That is him. Enjoy that. On special occasions, such as anniversaries or birthdays, he'll come to the Earth plane. Sense his presence and speak to him.
He still loves you as he did when in a body, and wants you to be happy. He just can't communicate easily.
As for reincarnating and not being there when you arrive, I've never heard of a single instance in which that happens. It seems that either they wait to reincarnate until all their loved ones are there or they have a higher self that can experience a reincarnation as a new individual while the individual from the Earth plane remains an individual. We're not sure, but we do know they're always there when we cross over.
