Hi Denise,

You wrote, "Growing up Catholic, we were warned over and over again about other religions or new age stuff where people will claim that things are the way "they say" and not the Christian way, but the Catholic faith says to be cautious of these people because it's Satan or the devil working on you or also what are referred to as "false prophets."

No, that's just not true. If you're to find your path, grow in love and compassion, and grow spiritually, you have to give up on religions. Nothing in the physical realm is spiritual, and the religions are all thoroughly physical realm entities. Spirituality comes from within, and is individual. You have a personal relationship with the Higher Power. Truth comes from inside you. You can't find your spiritual self or path in anything outside of yourself.

You wrote, "Also, as far as ouija boards (I had used one after Mom passed away and swear it was her from things she said), the devout Catholic members of my family told me that it wasn't Mom who came thru to me after she passed on, it was the devil coming thru and acting like it was Mom."

There's nothing religion tells you about yourself, the Higher Power, other people, the universe, or the other planes of life that is a spiritual truth for you. You have to abandon all of it. Then, find your own truth. You'll be led to it, but it will come from within you. You can learn perspectives from others in the physical realm, but they're not truths for you--they're just ways to stimulate your own discovery of truth.

Just give up on religions.

Love and peace, Craig
